Spread the love
This video covers the social media content strategies I’ve used to organically grow my following for ReNursing Edu over the past 2 years. Use this strategy in your own business to grow a league of devoted fans for many years to come without the use of paid ads or being dependent on a social media algorithm to get visibility.

Why you should care about content repurposing
The bigger picture of the content repurposing strategy is to create a steady stream of viral traffic. That’s what we’re talking about here. And yes, it’s a lot like the problem you have with getting traffic. We have an abundant supply of content on our sites, but we need to generate that traffic in order to survive.
This is why sites like YouTube are so important — they allow us to do something that most of us would love to do: create content that is highly-shareable and that people want to share with their friends. It’s not necessarily your most popular video, but it will help you get your name out there and get more people talking about you or your company (thereby increasing the audience for your content).
The problem is a simple one: most businesses don’t actually have time for this kind of stuff; they just don’t know how to do it yet…. So if you want more organic traffic from search engines, or from social media networks, then you need to start creating high-value videos and then repurpose them on other social media platforms where people are going further than ever before looking for these topics.
What is content repurposing?
The content creation hamster wheel is a common problem for many small business owners. The big question is how to get out of this situation without wasting time and effort on ineffective content.
There are many reasons why you might be stuck in the content creation hamster wheel. Your website may be stuck receiving the same traffic day after day that it did last year. Old pages may be blocked, or your readers may have moved on to other sites and want new content.
One way to free yourself from this dilemma is by creating a perpetual stream of original, purposeful content and reusing it across all channels you can find — social media, email, websites, and mobile apps — in order to saturate your audience with a constant stream of fresh content that they can’t get enough of.
If you are an author, then you might even consider writing one-page eBooks or short articles that are optimized straight into your website’s footer as well as other landing pages where people can access them easily without having to navigate through pages and pages of uninteresting text. The beauty of this strategy is that it doesn’t only generate more organic traffic but also increases the number of eyeballs on your website which increases perceived authority for each piece of content because it’s being seen by people who care about what you have to say and know it will be valuable for them.
The benefits of content repurposing
After you’ve created content, how do you repurpose it? A lot of times, this is a forgotten area. Repurposing gets a bad rap because it feels like a waste. But that’s not the case at all.
Here are two reasons why repurposing can be useful: 1. SEO – Repurposing can increase your search engine visibility (search engine optimization). 2. Social media – Repurposing can get you noticed on social media (social media marketing).
You have to be strategic about what you repurpose. And if you aren’t, you may not have enough traffic or maybe even views to replicate the results of your original piece of content (the economic value).
In this post, I’ll help you understand the benefits of repurposing and give some examples of repurposed content from various platforms (YouTube videos, blogs, internet forums, etc.).
How to repurpose your content for different platforms
If you use your content for one channel and make it available on two or more, that’s called repurposing. You can even re-publish your content as an article with a new title on another outlet (ex: Medium). You can also take that content and repurpose it as a blog post or continue to use it in other channels like email or blogs.
This is one of the easiest ways to increase the number of people who see your content so that when they do decide to buy from you, they are most likely going to do so from a specific platform.
There are many reasons why people are hesitant to buy from you: their main reason for doing so might be because they don’t know where else to go, because they don’t see the value of your product or service (which probably means they do know what they want and now just need help finding the right product), or because they don’t feel like making a purchase at this time (they’re not ready).
If you’re selling online, then why not turn that hesitation into an opportunity? If people know where else you can buy something similar to what you’re selling, then perhaps their first instinct is not “I want this.” It’s “I want this…but where? And how much?”
In my experience, there’s no better way for businesses to increase sales than by making the customer experience the best possible. That means creating video content so people get to know you before buying from you. By doing this you can increase sales by 10X+, and your customers will be loyal to you because they know you.
And remember — if you repurpose your content in any way that’s 100% relevant — it only takes one click! All it takes is one click which will lead them straight back to you!
Tips for repurposing your content
Repurposing content has become a popular topic in the marketing world. Using your content to repurpose it can help you get more organic traffic and less expensive, targeted traffic. The right way to do this is to use one video and repurpose it for each platform so that you have the ultimate reach.
The first thing you need to do is figure out what platform you want to repurpose your content on. I always start with my YouTube videos.
The following steps will help you get started:
1) Record a YouTube video
Find a topic that you are passionate about, such as yourself or a brand or an idea that is unique or fun for the viewer. If your subject matter interests someone, they may be interested in your topic too. Think about why people would like your subject matter and write down notes on which topics seem most appealing to them (e.g., “natural hair care products” and “healthful foods”).
I like to plan my video content in advance before I record it.
2) Share the video to Pinterest:
Once you have recorded the video and uploaded it, share it on Pinterest. Pinterest is another search engine that is great for organic traffic. You can upload full videos up to 15 minutes long on Pinterest, so keep that in mind when you’re recording your videos.
3) Create pins for Pinterest
I know I mentioned Pinterest above, but creating pins is not the same as sharing videos on Pinterest. By doing both, you can get the ultimate visibility of your content. For each video, create at least 5 pins.
4) Write an email newsletter
Write an email newsletter based on your video topic. If you record 4 videos per month like I do, you will have an email for every week and you’ll keep your email list warm!
5) Write a blog post
This blog post is based on one of my YouTube videos on my social media content strategy (linked above). You can either get your video transcribed and put it on your blog or you can create an entirely new blog post on the topic and link your YouTube video as I’ve done here. Both are great for SEO!
This is just a fraction of the ways video content can be repurposed on your social media platforms. If you need help with video content repurposing or growing your YouTube channel, check out Nachole’s brand visibility agency Studio 8 Twenty-Two!
